Bless the School: Paint & Restore - Sat 6/7
As we continue our ministry of blessing urban schools, this year we will build a new playground and paint and restore classrooms at Troost Elementary.
Starting May 10 thru June 7, we need at least 100 people each Saturday to repair, clean, and prepare the school. Skilled individuals are needed to perform specific projects (see list of skills below). Specific skills are not required, we also need help with general repair and cleaning. We provide on-the-job training!!
Sign-up for Phase I
When: Saturday, June 7th (Shifts: Morning 8am-12pm, All-Day 8am-4pm)
Where: Troost Elementary School, 1215 E 59th St, Kansas City, MO.
Sign-up: Online or in the Narthex (after worship) May 3-4 or May 10-11.
Requirements:
- View our Youth Policy before signing up
- Fill out the Required Youth Waiver and/or Adult Waiver
- Turn your completed waiver in at Connection Point or scan and email to anngcarter@aol.com at least 3 days before your shift.
If you have any of these Special Skills, let us know (not required):
- Remove/replace asphalt
- Repair, strip, stain wood
- General contractor
- Plumbing, electrical, general “handyman” skills
- Plaster repair
- Ceiling repair
- Playground equipment assembly
- Concrete work
- Remove/lay vinyl tile
- Knowledge of outside drainage and grading for playground
