Things to Know:
- The purpose of this trip is to join in fellowship with other Resurrection families as we hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, CO for each of four days. Although there is plenty to do in the area, it is not the same trip if we fragment off from each other. We will be hiking as a group, with longer hikes for the experienced and easier hikes for the less experienced. In order to maintain the spirit of fellowship, we expect participation in the majority of the hikes. However, if you have a family member who is not able to hike, that is fine. If you love Colorado but don’t like to hike…this is not the trip for you. If you are an extreme hiker who wants to climb the 14,000ft peaks each day, this is also not the hike for you.
- In order to complete these hikes, you will need to be able to walk comfortably at altitude of 8,500 ft for at least 3 miles while carrying a water pack and lunch. You should obtain medical clearance from your physician if you have any chronic health issues prior to paying your deposit.
- We only have room for 15 families/rooms. Rooms are reserved based on the arrival of your complete deposit of $200 on a first-come, first-reserved basis.
- Keep in mind, there is a maximum of 5 persons per room. Deposits are required for EACH room reservation.
- In the past, we have tried to accommodate requests to leave early, arrive early or stay late. Unfortunately, the YMCA policy does not allow this, as our stay is a GROUP RESERVATION. Billing is handled on a ‘batch’ basis, and they do not operate like a hotel. Therefore, you must arrive on July 21st by 9:00 PM and check-out of your room no earlier than 5:00 PM on July 25th. If you would like to spend more time in the area, please make separate reservations on your own. If you choose to leave early, FOR WHATEVER REASON (including emergencies), you are responsible to pay the entire amount of your projected reservation. Unfortunately, there cannot be exceptions to this policy.
- Reservations cannot be cancelled after 2/1/08. If you become unable to attend, you will need to either pay the entire amount of your reservation, or find someone to take your reservation and pay your entire fee.
- Because this is a church-sponsored trip, Fellowship Time will be held each evening at 7 p.m. All families are expected to attend this each night. This time, as well as the devotions at the trailheads and lunch breaks are each led by a different family. Nightly fellowship time usually lasts about an hour, and is typically followed by a trip to the ice cream shoppe in town or a stop for some coffee in the main lodge
