Food Bank: Introduction & Training Event 6/8
How does Resurrection’s Food Bank ministry process the 70 tons of donated food each year and feed the hungry in KC? Join us for an introduction and training event! Learn how you can help ensure quality, sort and deliver the huge quantities of food to pantries to serve peopole throughout the city. Tour the basement and get the behind the scenes tour.
When: Sunday, June 8, 2008, 3:30-4:45pm
Where: Meet in Narthex of West Building, then proceed to basement
Speaker: Karen Crabtree from Crosslines will share about the needs of the community and those who are served through their food panty.
Registration: Please sign-up online by 6/5, to let us know you are coming.
Purpose: Come and learn about the critical need to help feed our hungry neighbors in the Kansas City metro area and how the Food Bank Ministry is meeting the need. We will learn about the how the Food Bank works, tour the basement, do some basic training and learn about volunteer opportunities.
All are welcome: If you are new to the ministry and want to learn more about the need, and how to volunteer, please join us. If you are a long-time volunteer this is an opportunity to consider taking on a leadership role.
