Faithwork: June 21 & Paint the School!

  • Paint and Bless the School: A team will be going to Troost Elementary, the urban school that Resurrection has adopted, to paint and do other acts of service to bless the school. For this project only, free bus service is provided but you must reserve a spot in advance by contacting cathy.swirbul@cor.org The bus will return to Resurrection at about 1:30 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old for this project only.   • Sort food donations at the Village Presbyterian food pantry. The pantry serves low-income families in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
  • Work in the clothing closet at Grand Avenue Temple sorting clothing donations and helping homeless folks shop there. Grant Avenue Temple is an urban church that is run primarily by and serves the homeless.
  • Prepare and serve a meal at the Westport UMC soup kitchen.
  • Sort donations at the City Union Mission thrift store on 63rd St. Proceeds from the thrift store helps fund the mission's ministry to the homeless, in which they provide counseling, job training, substance abuse treatment and a Christian discipleship program.
  • Prepare and serve a meal at the Central UMC soup kitchen.
    Sort food donations at Cross-Lines, a ministry that serves low-income folks.
  • Address invitations for the Lighthouse's fundraising event. The lighthouse provides practical care and Christian ministry for pregnant teens.
