Step Up Missions for Summer 2008:

Surge Mission Trip for Rising 7th & 8th graders

This summer we have two local mission experiences for students entering the 7th or 8th grade in the Fall of 2008. We will be serving our community through a variety of projects including Harvesters, KC Rescue Mission, Grand Avenue Temple and other local ministries that the church supports.

  • When: June 26-29th OR July 17-20th
  • Cost: $130.00 per student
  • Leader: Taylor Ogden Thomas, Middle School Minister
  • Location: We will be staying at Grand Avenue Temple in downtown Kansas City.
  • Check in: Check in is at 10:00am at the Student Center Information Booth for both trip dates
  • Transportation: Transportation will be by 12-passenger van.
  • What will happen: Students will be serving in mission teams with 2 adult leaders per team. Each team will serve as many as six different mission sites. Besides serving during the day, all students will participate in Bible Study, small group discussions, worship, fellowship, and games.
  • The mission trip will conclude on both Sundays with worship at the Grand Avenue Temple. Your family is invited to attend worship and then help with serving lunch to the community immediately following worship.
  • Parents & Student Leaders: Parents you can be a part of this experience with your student. We are looking for mission trip leaders, help with meals on site, and behind the scenes preparation. In addition we have a need for student leaders for recent high school graduates and those entering the 10th - 12th grade in the fall of 2008.

This is going to be an amazing experience as we have the awesome opportunity to serve the Lord together while having fun in the process. Be prepared to be stretched and molded in new and different ways during your Surge experience.
