Connections Ministry: New Member Welcome Team
Extend the hand of hospitality to new members! This Team contacts Resurrection's newest members within three to four weeks of joining the church to extend the hand of hospitality and offer assistance with getting connected into the life of the Church beyond worship. Contacts occur after Coffee with the Pastors which is six times per year. Our big church is small when you meet new friends!
Schedule: Moderate, 1-2 hours during the few weeks after each of the six Coffee With the Pastors joining ceremonies each the year.
Qualifications: team members are active members at Church of the Resurrection who are practicing the four expectations of membership including: regular worship; growing in your faith by participating in a small group study; and serving God with your hands by volunteering in service to the congregation and community.
Spiritual Gifts frequently found in persons serving on this team include:
discernment of spirits, evangelism, exhortation, assistance/helps, and
administration.
Passions and Skills frequently found in persons serving on this team include:
encouragement of others, communication; people, encourager; relationship with God, good listener, spiritual growth, hospitality, written word of God,
iIntercession, christian community, prayer, and writing.
Team Purpose To welcome and connect our new church members into the life of the church where they are supported compassionately, growing theologically, experiencing community, and serving joyfully on the journey to becoming deeply committed Christians. We assist in their connection to Resurrection by reaching out to them personally.
