Guest Services: Easter 2008 Volunteer Opportunities
Would you like to help our many guest and members celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord? If so, please let us know when and how you'd like to serve by registering online (link at right).
Volunteer Positions:
- Traffic/Parking Volunteer - Assist the Traffic Ministry in directing traffic and pedestrians. Our goal is to ensure all who worship with us have a safe, positive experience. The traffic volunteers are the first and last opportunity we have to impact our visitors' worship experience. We will provide the traffic safety gear and we will have experienced traffic volunteers to provide instruction and guidance. Your consideration to help us for these special services is appreciated. Please wear appropriate attire based on weather. If you have questions, please contact Craig Elford at 913-226-0911.
- Greeter - Offer a warm handshake and smile to welcome all who enter our doors to celebrate Christ's Resurrection.
- Back-up Greeter - Be on "stand-by" status to greet for an "overflow" service if Sanctuary seating capacity is exceeded at the Saturday 5pm or Sunday 11am services. A determination will be made just before service time if an overflow service is required. (If so, it will be held in the Student Center.) We'll let you know if we need you to serve then. If an additional service is not required for overflow, you're welcome to worship at the regularly scheduled service.
- Nursery Volunteer - Rock a baby or play with a child while parents attend the Easter service. If you have questions, please contact Lori Trupp at 913-544-0725.
- Worship Coordinator - Help acolytes prepare for serving and co-lead the usher team. (Due to the tasks involved, we ask that only current Worship Coordinator team members volunteer for this position.)
- Usher - Provide a welcoming presence in the Sanctuary for our members and guests. Help direct seating, pass attendance notebooks and offering plates.
- Back-up Usher - Be on "stand-by" status to usher for an "overflow" service if Sanctuary seating capacity is exceeded at the Saturday 5pm or Sunday 11am services. A determination will be made just before service time if an overflow service is required. (If so, it will be held in the Student Center.) We'll let you know if we need you to serve then. If an additional service is not required for overflow, you're welcome to worship at the regularly scheduled service.
- Computer Mapper for First Time Visitor Mug Delivery - Help our first time visitors feel welcome by providing a computer-generated map for those delivering coffee mugs. Even if you aren't comfortable working at a keyboard, you can still help with this ministry! We also need people to highlight and fold maps and others to put folded maps in coffee mugs and place mugs on our mugging station. Please help us "Mug Thy Neighbor".
