Youthfront Camp

Your kids will love the experience of sleep-over camp accompanied by the familiarity of KiDSCOR. We are offering two camps again this year – July 6-9 for current 4th and 5th graders and a July 11-13 for current 2nd and 3rd graders.

Youthfront is a Christian camp that offers air-conditioned cabins, a lake, swimming pool, water-slide, paddleboats, ping-pong, pool tables, foosball, a snack bar, and so much more. Campers will have structured activities, worship time, and plenty of free time to enjoy all that camp has to offer. Camp favorites every year are Night Strike and the shaving cream war.  Youthfront Camp West is located in Edgerton, Kansas (just 25 minutes south on I-35).

CABIN PLACEMENT:   We are one of few who reserve space at Youthfront that make room assignments for camp.  Each cabin has four rooms that hold four children on bunk beds (total of 16 kids per cabin).  When you register, you may list up to three friends your child would like to room with.  If the four children don’t list each other as requested bunkmates than you risk forcing us to determine how to place children into their room assignments.  So if at all possible, get four kids together and everyone list each other please!  In order for all campers to have the best experience we will not put more than two rooms of friends together in a cabin.  If you need to make changes to your bunkmate requests you can do so in the new campwise system.  We will not start cabin placement until three or four weeks before camp so you have plenty of time to get it all figured out.

VOLUNTEERS:   We will need one adult volunteer for each cabin.  Don’t worry it’s easy and fun!  Youthfront provides one paid staff person for each cabin who will lead the kids through the activities.  KiDSCOR volunteers will serve alongside but are not expected to lead anything unless you want to.  Most duties include going in the canoes and paddle boats with campers (they require an adult to do those!!) hanging out and trying to get them to sleep at night.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age.  Youth are welcome!  There is some flexibility if you need to leave for an important meeting or take calls or work online (they do have wifi).  Please consider taking time to come to camp with us.  Here’s the link to register as a volunteer.

RezWest: If you regularly attend RezWest, we are reserving cabins just for you!  Use the regular code: coryfcamp  but when asked the question which church group are you with select Resurrection West.  That will be our indicator that you want to be put in the cabins with the kids from the west campus.

TRANSITION CAMP - Spots remain for girls only.  Boys have a waitlist.
This camp is specifically designed for ‘tweens who have outgrown the mini-week camp but may not be ready for the weeklong camp (they get an extra day and night).

When:  July 6 – 9, 2016
Check-in will begin at 9:00am on July 6 and camp will end around 10:30am on July 9.

Who:  Current 4th – 5th graders (the registration system will ask you to register them as the grade they will be in Aug 2016 -  5th and 6th)

Cost:  $310 – We are reserving the entire camp which means the group discount has already been applied.  Register before March 2nd and receive $15 of camp bucks!

Transition Camp Registration:  A deposit of $75 is required at the time of registration.  Go to www.youthfront.com/account/ and make sure you pick session 5 (it will show as sold out but it is not if you have our codes) and choose the appropriate code to be put in our group:  CORYFCamp

MINI CAMP - Spots remain for boys on a waitlist.  Girls are full and waitlist full too.

Chicago Mission Trip - HAVE OPENINGS FOR 3 STUDENTS - 9TH-12TH IN FALL OF 2016

rezlife 2016 Chicago Mission Trip
Saturday, July 9th – Thursday, July 14th

Trip Leader: Sam Johnson, High School Minister

This mission trip is for those students entering 9th-12th grade in the Fall 2016 and 2016 High School Graduates.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

What is the cost?
The cost of the trip is $300.00 per student and $25.00 for an adult co-mentor. This includes your transportation, meals while in Chicago, lodging, and an awesome t-shirt. The only additional cost will be lunch the first and last day while traveling as well as money for any miscellaneous items.
Where do we stay?
Students and adult mission leaders are housed at Park Ridge United Methodist Church. Every person needs to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow.  Showers are available at a nearby community center.
What kind of work will we be doing?
Every mission trip is unique. Trips include a variety of service opportunities. You may work with children, visit with the elderly, perform light maintenance such as minor repairs/painting homes, yard work (mowing, weeding gardens), picking up trash, helping out at a homeless shelters, elderly homes, building wheelchair ramps cleaning/doing repair work for local parks, or even working in community gardens. Students will be serving in mission teams with two adult leaders per team. Each team will serve several different mission sites. In addition to serving during the day, all students will participate in Bible study, small group discussions, worship, fellowship, and games.

Training for the trip:  MUST BE COMPLETED BY JUNE 1, 2016
Safe Gatherings: Protection of Minors and Developmentally Disabled Adults
All participants 16 and older at the time of the trip are required to take the training and be certified as a Safe Gatherings worker.  If you’ve taken the Safe Gatherings training within the last 4 years, you do not have to repeat the training.  To make it convenient for your schedule, this is now an online class. Once you complete the class and are certified, you will receive an email with your expiration date. (Please allow 4–6 weeks for processing). Once you receive your email you will need to send a copy to the rezlife office. To start the training go to www.safegatherings.com.

Parent & Student Meeting
There is a mandatory parent and student meeting on Tuesday, June 21st from 7:30-8:30pm in room C020a & d, Building C, Lower Level. All information regarding the trip (what to bring, guidelines and student covenant) will be handed out and gone over. This is required for all students participating in this trip, even if you’ve been on a mission trip in the past.

This is going to be an amazing experience as we have the awesome opportunity to serve the Lord together while having fun in the process. Be prepared to be stretched and molded in new and different ways during your experience!
