Meet Your Bible: Old Testament

All sections are led by Darrell Holtz. Choose to join us for all 12 weeks or pick any of the 3 sections you want to learn more about. Registration is suggested for all three classes.

We’ll use the CEB Study Bible, offered to all new Resurrection members for free, as the basis for this study, but it will be helpful no matter which translation and study Bible you use.

Section 2: Old Testament

Survey how the Old Testament (the Hebrew Scriptures) launches God’s “big story” of redemption, and gain a clearer understanding of how law, history, poetry and prophecy fit together in this vital set of documents.

5 weeks: Tuesdays 4/26 – 5/24 | 6:30-8:30pm | Room B214 | Building B

Visit cor.org/grownight for information on Section 3: New Testament.

A Conversation with Pastor Adam Hamilton

The Kansas City Public Library is hosting a Conversation with Pastor Adam Hamilton, as part of their “Cradle of Entrepreneurs” series.

When: Tuesday, May 3, 2016, 6:30 pm

Where: Central Library 14 W. 10th St.

RSVP: 816-701-3407 or kclibrary.org/events

From a modest attendance of less than 120 at its first service held in 1990 in the chapel of a local funeral home – Pastor Adam Hamilton has nurtured Kansas City’s Church of the Resurrection into the largest United Methodist church in the nation, serving more than 20,000 members across four campuses. It expects to open a new, visually striking, $90 million sanctuary in Leawood, Kansas, by next Easter.

Hamilton, chosen earlier this year to serve on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, sits down with Library Director Crosby Kemper III to discuss his efforts and achievements in the latest installment of the Kansas City: Cradle of Entrepreneurs series.

Focusing in 2016 on entrepreneurship in the nonprofit sector, the series is made possible by generous contributions from the Regnier Family Foundation and Bank of Blue Valley.
