Disaster Response: Early Response Training 5/19

When: Saturday, May 19, 8:30 am-4 pm.  Please bring your own sack lunch.

Where: Resurrection West Campus, 24000 West Valley Parkway, Olathe   meet in the Bible Theater.

Who: Those interested in becoming part of Resurrection's Early Response Team through the Reach & Restore Ministry of Beyond Kansas City Missions.  This volunteer group could be called out to minister in disaster situations within our 7 state jurisdiction or elsewhere if requested. 

Trainers:  U.M.C.O.R Certified Trainers include Jerry O'Donnell and Don Wales.

Class Description:

This training provides certification by U.M.C.O.R. for Early Responders through the United Methodist Church and American Red Cross.  The class will cover the various stages of disasters, various levels of response, team organizations, safety and equipment training.  It will also educate the new affiliate in regards to specialized training and paperwork necessary to assist in a declared disaster area.  There will be group and individual training modules used to test your skills as well as an over all assessment at the end of the class.  Scenarios include but are not limited to Tornados, Hurricanes, Ice Storms and Floods.

Fee: Fee for this training is $25 and is paid with your online registration.  Newly certified members will undergo a background check when they take Safe and Sacred Training and will receive a Jurisdictional Card and a U.M.C.O.R photo I.D. noting your specific training.  Your photo I.D. must be presented and worn while at a disaster site. You will only recieve the I.D. after you have completed Safe and Sacred training.
