Hunger: Souper Bowl Food Drive 1/28-2/12

There have been numerous stories of people struggling to feed their families and food pantry shelves that are bare in this economy.  This year, more than ever, we can make a substantial difference to those who are hungry by donating, collecting and delivering food throughout the city.

What & When:

• Donations accepted Saturday, January 28-Sunday, February 12 
• Small Group and Individual Challenge for all 247 groups to raise 18,000 lbs of food!  
• Sorting and Boxing food February 6, 13 and 20
• Deliveries to local pantries March 6, 7 and 8

Items Needed: 

• Chunky/Progresso Soup
• Canned Tuna
• Canned Fruits & Vegetables
• Canned Entrees (i.e. Ravioli, Beef Stew, etc)
• Canned Spaghetti Sauce (no glass)
• Large Peanut Butter
• Jelly (non-glass containers)
• Oatmeal
• Mac & Cheese
• Expired food cannot be accepted. Please check dates before donating.

Where: 

• Food Donations: Place on the wire racks in the Leawood Narthex during the week or on weekends between January 28 and February 12.
• Cash Donations: Use the SouperBowl Envelopes in the seat backs and place in the offering plate.
• For Resurrection Blue Springs, Downtown and West, bring donations to the Connection Point at each location. Envelopes for cash donations can be found there as well.
