Projects at Church


Project 1: Assemble Sack Lunches for the Homeless –(Basement) Decorate sacks and fill with lunch items.  Family Friendly Suitable for all ages 5 years and older accompanied by an adult. Ten volunteers are needed. Reserve Here

Project 2: Sew Night Shirts for the Homeless (Basement) Sew the backs of hospital gowns closed that are used by City Union Mission for the homeless to sleep in while at their shelter. Suitable for adults and youth 12 years and older with an adult. Three volunteers needed.

Project 3: Make Mats for the Homeless – Make Mats out of Recycled Plastic Bags (Room 2209) Suitable for children 8 years and older. Unlimited volunteers needed Leader:Colleen

Project 4: Make No Sew Blankets for Spofford Home (Basement) Suitable for all ages 8 years and older accompanied by an adult. Six volunteers are needed. Leader: Addi Stewart

Project 5: Make Peanut Butter Jar Wraps (Basement) Family Friendly Decorate and write words of encouragement on colored paper that wraps around a jar of peanut butter that goes into Backpacks for Hunger for our partnering schools. Suitable for adults and children 5 and older accompanied by an adult. Ten Volunteers are needed. Leader: Addi Stewart

Project 6 : Make Teacher Gifts for our Partner Schools- (Basement) Family Friendly . Suitable for adults and children 5 and older accompanied by an adult. Ten Volunteers are needed. Leader: Addi Stewart

Project 8: The Heritage of Overland Park Baking Cookies with Dementia Residents (Get Directions) Family Friendly Suitable for adults and children 5 and older accompanied by an adult. Six volunteers are needed.  Reserve Here

Project 9: Hillcrest Transitional Housing – Paint rooms for new residents. (Get Directions) Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult. Fifteen volunteers are needed. Reserve Here

Project 10: Grand Avenue Temple Clothing Closet – Lazerath Boutique Help Recipients Shop for Clothes (Get Directions) Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult. Eight volunteers are needed. Reserve Here

Project 11: Resurrection Furnishings Ministry Warehouse – Sort Donations and Furniture at My Fathers House and various opportunities in their new warehouse. (Get Directions)  Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult.  Thirty volunteers are needed. Leader: Mary Jones

Project 12: Cross-Lines Food Pantry - Sort Food Donations (Get Directions)

Project 13: Salvation Army Children’s Shelter – Play Games and Crafts with Children & Serve Meal. (Get Directions) Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult. Eight volunteers are needed. Reserve Here

Project 14: Grace UMC- Prepare and Serve a Meal for the Homeless. Suitable for adults and children 12 and older accompanied by an adult. Twelve volunteers needed. Reserve Here

Project 15:  Healing House Spring Clean Up- (Get Directions) Suitable for adults and children 8 and older accompanied by an adult. Thirty volunteers are needed. Lunch will be provided.  Leader Ben White
