Wesley Academy: Old Testament Introduction

Our next session of the Wesley Academy will feature Dr. Harold Washington, Professor of Hebrew Bible, at Saint Paul School of Theology. Dr. Washington received his PhD from the Princeton Theological Seminary and has been teaching at Saint Paul since 1988. He will present both a lecture on Friday night and a day long class on Saturday.

Friday night's topic will be "Jeremiah and Jesus: Understanding the Biblical Roots of Christ's Message, Ministry, and Passion." The relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament is a vital topic in the life of the Church. Dr. Washington will illustrate the richness of this relationship through examples of the biblical prophets, Jeremiah and Jesus.

On Saturday, Dr. Washington will give an introductory survey of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible. He will address the five books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), the historical and prophetic books, and the Hebrew wisdom literature (Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes). Please join us for this exciting learning opportunity.
