Compassion International
![]() |
Compassion International is a holistic Christian child development ministry dedicated to addressing the needs of children around the world. Compassion focuses on the real life needs of children – spiritual, physical, financial, and social – by partnering with local churches in 26 developing countries.
Compassion is:
Christ Centered: Jesus is at the heart of Compassion's ministry and each child has the opportunity to hear the gospel in an age-appropriate and culturally relevant way.
Child Focused: Compassion focuses on the individual child and his or her development. A transformed child will inevitably change his or her environment.
Church Based: The Church is God's chosen instrument to bring hope and deliver justice to the poor and oppressed. Compassion partners with local Christian churches to equip them for ministry to children.
Committed to Integrity: We're dedicated to delivering excellent programs with complete integrity.
Currently, over 1100 Resurrection members and visitors sponsor Compassion children by sending a monthly contribution, letter writing and prayer support. Resurrection's Compassion International ministry team sponsors informational meetings during the year and a new sponsor sign-up weekend in the fall.

Sponsor a Child
"Compassion International... has brought us joy and satisfaction in seeing how God is working through our contributions and letters to our child." - R. Nelson
You can help lift a child out of poverty. Compassion works through local churches to provide child development programs to deliver children from economic, physical, social and spiritual poverty, enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. When you sponsor a Compassion child you will give a child in need hope by giving them access to an education, medical care, supplementary food, and the chance to learn about Jesus and the Gospel in a safe Christian environment. You will send and receive letters from your child; building a relationship with the child and watch them grow and learn. The hope you give them will last a lifetime. Your monthly contribution, letters, and prayers will mean the world to your child. To sponsor a child go to Sponsor a Child or contact Shirley Greenlee at sgreenlee@kc.rr.com to learn more about sponsorship.
