Jamaica
Music, art, dance and a colorful, rich history make Jamaica an inspiring place to be Christ’s hands and feet. This developing nation, known for its many beautiful shores and infectious culture, continues to face serious economic problems, including rampant unemployment and growing debt.
Join a team to work directly with the Methodist Church in St. Ann’s Bay, where one of Columbus’ ships is said to have landed in 1493. Teams will stay in the historic Cloisters, which has been a Methodist mission on the island for more than two centuries. Mission teams will provide a mini-Vacation Bible Camp to local children during the church’s feeding program and will participate in a “Bless the School” work project to develop and encourage local schools. Teams will also be involved in a community worship service in partnership with local leaders and clergy.
A mission trip to Jamaica is a great way for individuals, couples and families with children 12 and older to experience the blessings and rewards of learning from and partnering with a local congregation to help meet local needs.
To Join a Team, every member will need to attend training, fill out our family missions application and adults will need to be certified in Safe and Sacred training. For specific trip information, click on the date links to the right.
