Requirements
Training & Commissioning Dates
Attendance at the mission trip training meetings is mandatory for every team member. You will learn valuable information about your specific trip, team expectations and meet your leader and team members. If you are unable to attend the training session associated with your trip, please select another trip date.
Most trips require completion of the Safe and Sacred training, which is a child protection training. Check the schedule of upcoming classes held at Church of the Resurrection. To view additional classes in the Kansas East conference, click here.
Your team will be recognized at a commissioning ceremony in a worship service a few weeks before your trip.
Fees
The application fee is $300 per person for international trips. For domestic trips, a $100 fee is required per individual or family.
Immunizations
Your health and safety on a mission trip is important. Every participant is encouraged to consult with his/her physician concerning vaccinations necessary for your specific location. The Center for Disease Control offers a travelers health website with up to date information.
Passports
A current passport is needed for all international trip participants. All passports are required to have at least two blank pages and can not expire within 6 months of the date of departure. If you do not currently have a passport, visit the US State Department website.
Age Requirements
For international trips, youth between the ages of 16 and 18 may participate if they are accompanied by a parent. For domestic trips , youth 14 and above may attend if accompanied by a parent.
There is no maximum age limit; however, because of the physical demands associated with travel and some mission projects, older adults are strongly encouraged to consult with their primary physician prior to registering.
