Bless the School: Paint & Restore
Hundreds of volunteers make a difference in Resurrection’s Education and Life Skills ministry through Bless the School. For 2012, we are proud to serve as a partner in education to bless Wendell Phillips, a PK-6 school in the Kansas City, MO Public Schools system, which believes in and practices the philosophy of literacy for all children and strives to help students develop critical thinking skills, moral values, and a healthy self-concept. Resurrection volunteers will provide much needed care and maintenance to the school building and grounds to promote a positive learning environment for the children, families, and staff of Wendell Phillips.
Where: Wendell Phillips Elementary
1619 E 24th Terr, Kansas City, MO
When: Monday, June 18th - Thursday June 21st
3 Shifts: 9am-Noon, 1pm-4pm, and 5:30pm-8:30pm
and
Friday June 22nd and Saturday June 23rd
2 shifts: 9am-Noon and 1pm-4pm
Serving Opportunities:
• Register Here to volunteer on-site, no special skills required. Both indoor and outdoor projects are available for ages 12 and up at all skills levels. *Ages 12-15 must volunteer with a parent.
• Release forms are required for all on-site volunteer participants and can be turned in at Bless the School tables in the Narthex June 2nd, 3rd, 9th or 10th, or can be scanned and emailed to Ann Carter at anngcarter@aol.com . Forms are attached to the registration or you can download here youth form and adult form. Forms must be turned in one week prior to your scheduled shift.

2012 projects will include:
Paint re-touching
Bulletin board installation
Carpet square installation
Cleaning
Playground maintenance
Power washing exterior
Painting murals
