Justice & Reconciliation
The Church of the Resurrection's Justice & Reconciliation team is dedicated to helping our congregation recognize and fulfill God’s will in addressing the root causes of racial division, poverty, and social injustices in the Kansas City area. We seek to educate our church on these issues, break down cultural barriers, and create opportunities to serve by doing justice and reconciling our community.
MLK Observance
Each year the Justice & Reconcilation Team plans events on MLK Weekend to honor Dr. King and his legacy or justice and service.
- Book Study: Challenging the congregation to read a book about real people and the issues of racial reconcilation, and participate in a book discussion group
- Speaker Event: Holding a speaking event with the author of the book or another key speaker to raise awareness
- Community Celebrations: Attending MLK Celebrations in the KCK an KCMO areas
- MLK Serve Day: Serving together on MLK Monday - National Day of Service "A Day On, Not a Day Off"

Stop Sex-Trafficking in KC
Kansas City is ranked 4th among U.S. cities for domestic minor sex trafficking, and most girls lured into the sex industry are only 12-14 years old. You can help stop this injustice and restore these girls through the love of Christ.
Opportunities to Help These Children:
- Veronica's Voice - women can help restore other women who were previously prostituted by serving meals, collecting needed items, or providing other support
- Defenders - men can help stop the demand by taking a pledge and speaking to other men about sex trafficking issues
- Awareness - be informed of the myths of sex trafficking, get the word out to report incidents to hotline, or work with legistlation to raise awareness and encourage new laws to address issues
