Resurrection Stories and What They Teach Us

The resurrection of Jesus changed everything for a discouraged group of followers, and the stories of his post-resurrection appearances are some of the most powerful in all of Scripture. This two-week study explores those accounts, examining what they reveal about how we’re called to live and raising the question of whether the resurrected Jesus continues to show up in our lives today. New Sermon Series Begins April 19 - The Sermon on the Mount: Jesus’ Roadmap for Life

The Sermon on the Mount has been described as “the heart of Jesus’ teaching,” “the essence of his ethics,” the world’s most important sermon,” “Jesus’ description of what he wanted his followers to be and to do,” and a “roadmap for daily life.” It’s not an easy path, but one that leads us to a life of purpose, joy and peace. Join us beginning April 19 for The Sermon on the Mount: Jesus’ Roadmap for Life.

Explore Resurrection

If you’re new to Resurrection or have been attending for a while and want to learn more about who we are, Explore Resurrection is a great next step. Senior Pastor Adam Hamilton will share his personal story along with our church’s history, purpose, and commitment, as well as the beliefs and traditions of the United Methodist Church. You’ll also hear about what membership looks like, the expectations that come with it, and the many ways to get involved. It’s a casual setting where you can ask questions, connect with others, and get a clearer picture of what it means to become a member at Resurrection. Following a short break, those ready to take that step can participate in an optional membership ceremony. David Worthington Event

Historian David Worthington is coming to Resurrection for a conversation with Pastor Adam Hamilton exploring Charles Wesley’s role in the rise of Methodism. If you know anything about the history of Methodism, you know the name John Wesley — but his brother Charles is someone we don’t talk about nearly enough. Many people know Charles wrote hymns, but Worthington will make the case that his contribution to early Methodism goes far deeper than that. On April 28 from 6:30–8 pm, David Worthington, who has spent nearly two decades as the Global Ambassador of Methodist Heritage Sites for The United Methodist Church, is joining Pastor Adam for this lecture and conversation, and we’d love for you to join us at Resurrection Leawood or online. Upcoming Immersion Trips

Join Pastor Robert Johnson for two powerful immersion trips that trace the sacred and sobering events shaping America’s journey toward justice. In March, explore Tulsa’s Greenwood District and the Osage Nation. In November, travel from Little Rock to Memphis, where ordinary people made extraordinary choices during the Civil Rights Movement. These aren’t tours—they’re pilgrimages designed to challenge and change us through guided reflection, prayer, and conversation, equipping us to love boldly and serve courageously today.

UPDATE: The Human Rights trip to Tulsa and the Osage Nation is now full.
