Attend a Safe and Sacred Class
The Church of the Resurrection in its Policy for the Protection of Minors and Developmentally Disabled Adults vows to take seriously the importance of providing a safe environment where all people can participate freely and safely in the life of the church and intend to maintain a sanctuary or "safe place" for all to grow in faith and maturity.
In order to fulfill those objectives, the church participates fully in the United Methodist Kansas East Conference Safe and Sacred Spaces abuse prevention program. If you wish to volunteer in KiDS COR you will be required to become certified by the Kansas East Conference to work in that ministry.
Visit the safe and sacred home to to sign up for a class and download the required forms.
Complete the Working with Minors Volunteer Application
Print the form from our website or pick up a copy in the “Town Hall” office in the children’s west building at the church. The application will ask for information used in the placement process and it adheres to the Church of the Resurrection Child Protection Policy.
Two references are needed: a pastor or spiritual leader, a close friend or an employer from the past year. Try to include references familiar with your experience working with children.
Return the completed application to a Ministry Connector
References will then be contacted, and a background check will be conducted.
Follow Up
Upon approval, one of our Ministry Connectors will contact you to discuss your placement. You will be given a personalized nametag and lanyard to be worn each time you volunteer.
The Program Director for your area of interest will provide your training. Training is required twice a year.
You will need to fill out the required forms, and it is our prayer and joy for you to experience purpose and fullfillment in KiDS COR!
