Churches helping churches: ShareChurch, a ministry of the Church of the Resurrection, is a resource for church leaders with fresh and practical ideas to inspire, encourage and equip other churches and leaders – unlocking and unleashing the potential of churches to reach their communities.
One way we work to equip churches and leaders is through leadership training events such as the annual Leadership Institute where more than 2000 leaders gather annually to be equipped, renewed, and inspired.

What will I Learn?
This three-day seminar, presented by Executive Pastor Karen Lampe and Pastor Wendy Chrostek and the Congregational Care team is designed to prepare lay volunteers to work alongside pastors and staff to minister to and care for your congregation as Congregational Care Ministers. The training is based on Pastor Karen’s book The Caring Congregation, which serves as a manual to guide pastors and churches to organize their congregations for care and equip people to listen, visit, comfort and encourage congregants.
With this training volunteers will be empowered to make hospital visits, telephone persons in need of contact, meet one-on-one with persons in need of a listening ear for prayer and encouragement, offer support to grieving families and proactively seek to encourage and care for persons in need.
Upon completion of this seminar, volunteers will be equipped to provide care on behalf of the church. They will develop active listening skills and theologically appropriate responses, as well as be given Scripture suggestions for various situations.
Topics to be covered: Organizational Development, Wesleyan Way of Care, Boundaries and Ethical Practices, Listening, Older Adult Ministry, Hospital Visits, Death and Prayer.

Our vision for the Partner Church Ministry is to work with churches throughout the country in an effort to renew The United Methodist Church, so that together we can more effectively change lives and transform whole communities through the power of Jesus Christ.
Our dream has been that through this partnership model, hundreds of small churches will band together as a modern day version of the circuit rider system which led to the original growth of our denomination. Each church retains their complete independence and charge through their respective conference. Yet, they have access to resources and training through Church of the Resurrection and the other churches involved in this ministry.
Imagine the impact of hundreds of already established congregations banding together to share powerful tools in order to provide the very best ministry to their communities!
Together - in partnership with one another - we can be a model for ministry that leads to renewal and revitalization within our denomination and other mainline churches. To explore whether being a Partner Church is right for your church and to learn about what Resurrection provides, how we deliver ministry tools, as well as our expectations, contact Jonathan Bell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our current partner churches for 2016 are:
- Asbury UMC, Ponca City, OK
- First UMC, Roseville, CA
- Hastings UMC, Hastings, MN
