Windows on the Gospel: The Denominations of Christianity

Presented From:
Aug 14, 2005   To: Oct 02, 2005

Why do Orthodox Christians use icons in worship? What is the "baptism in the Holy Spirit" Pentecostals speak about? Why do Roman Catholics focus on the Eucharist in worship? What do Lutherans teach us about salvation? How can Presbyterians teach us about God's power? How can Episcopalians deepen our prayer life? What would Baptists say to United Methodists about living for Christ?

In August 2005, Senior Pastor Rev. Adam Hamilton answered these questions and more in an exciting and thought provoking new sermon series entitled, “Windows on the Gospel:  A Study of the Denominations of Christianity.”  We learned of the history, theology and distinctive emphases of eight different denominations in the Christian faith.  In every sermon we heard from Bishops and leading pastors from the denomination we’re focusing on, and we’ll looked at the scriptures that have shaped their faith.  In addition, elements of our worship service were drawn from the worship traditions of the denomination we are studying.

Your faith will be strengthened and your experience of God deepened during these eight weeks, as we consider "Windows on the Gospel: The Denominations of Christianity."
