OVERVIEW
The story of King Solomon offers us a vivid look at a talented person, blessed by God, who lost his way under the pressures of power, great wealth and earthly pleasures. Solomon began well but, tragically, he did not finish well. Only in the book of Ecclesiastes do we get some indication that, at the end of his life, he realized the foolishness of the things he had valued more highly than God's wisdom. We are called, not just to a few "high points," but to a lifelong spiritual journey that allows us to finish as well as we start.
