OVERVIEW
Joshua led the people into the Promised Land with the Ark of the Covenant. Inside the Ark were the tablets of the Ten Commandments Moses received from God. The Ark of the Covenant was a symbol of God’s presence and power. Before the people of Israel entered the Promised Land, the Levites (tribe of priests) carried the Ark of the Covenant as they marched around the city of Jericho in silence for six days (Joshua 6).
