OVERVIEW
Anointing is an ancient tradition that set apart a person for service or devotion. The priests of Israel (Exodus 29;1-9), Kings (1 Samuel 10:1-8, 16:13) were anointed. The kings were called the Lord’s anointed. In the Christian church, we still use anointing at baptisms and for healing and as a sign to call on the Holy Spirit.
