The Voyage
OVERVIEW
As we've seen so far in this series, the Christian life is not just one decision after which we stay in the same place. It is a voyage--God is calling us on a lifelong adventure to the deeper waters, growing more and more like Christ. And, God does not intend that we make this voyage alone. Jesus himself, as one of the first acts of his ministry, sought out twelve people to be with him, both so that he could teach them and so that they could support him. Over and over, we find the New Testament calling us to concern and support for one another. The Bible urges us to stay connected, to teach and admonish one another, to forgive one another and to love one another. We need shipmates-we'll never make it to the far side of the sea without them.
