Welcome to Youth Music at Resurrection

We are musicians (and non-musicians who are learning a lot!) who love to sing together, eat together, travel together and strengthen our relationship with God and with each other through music, fellowship and service.

We have youth from all over the area who come together for rehearsal every week. We work hard on our music and work hard becoming a place where you can grow your faith by learning to use the gifts that God has given each one of us. Whether you are an accomplished soloist, a member of your school band, orchestra or choir or have never sung before in your life, there is a place for you at Resurrection. We want YOU to join us this year! (See the sign up form...)

Activities for the Resurrection Youth Musicians include:

  • Retreats - a fun way to learn new music!
  • Singing/Ringing/Playing at various community events
  • Christmas Concert  Performances
  • Awesome directors and staff 

Rehearsal Attendance

We encourage everyone to always be at rehearsal…we do so much, we would really hate for you to miss out on anything! But, we do realize that life is not always so simple! So – if you know you are going to be gone we ask that you sign out at rehearsal the previous week. If something really important comes up and you can’t make it to rehearsal, we ask that you call or email your director.

How Do I Join?/When Do I Start?

  • Fill out the sign up form
  • Enrollment in the Resurrection Musical Groups is open all year. The best time to start is this week at our next rehearsal!
  • Call the Resurrection Music Office and let us know you are interested! We would love to welcome you to your first rehearsal with a folder full of music.
  • If you have questions, please call or email the listed director. We would love to talk to you!

Inspiration Singers - (CORis)

Come be a part of one of the fastest growing Youth Choir programs in the country.  We will spend lots of time getting to know each other, so making new friends is easy!  We learn music that challenges us musically and spiritually as we become caring community in Christ. As a part of the Inspiration Singers, you will learn correct vocal technique that will make you a better singer both at church and at school - even if you have never sung before.  We sing regularly in worship, go on retreats, sing outside of Resurrection and tour every June.

Youth Orchestra

Youth  Bells Grades 6-12 

  • Sunday 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.  Handbell Room 2  West Building
  • Directed by: Gwen Gepford   (913) 491-6461  

This choir is open to all youth interested in ringing handbells.  Come join our fun and social group!  You don’t need handbell experience – we will teach you everything you need to know.  We enjoy ringing in worship, playing bells in the community, and combining with the choir and orchestra for our annual Youth Choir Tour.

Youth Music Summer Outreach Tour

Every June, the Youth Music Groups spend 10 days in Outreach ministry, touring to a different part of the country.  We share music and ministry in AWESOME places like churches, homeless shelters, retirement centers and veteran’s hospitals and maximum security youth prisons.  This is a life changing time as we experience the power of God through music.
