Resurrection Brookside is partnering with PMC (Parking Management Company) to manage our parking lot, the same organization our Downtown location has worked with successfully for some time. If you're coming for worship, programming, or volunteering, nothing about your experience changes. Parking stays free, every time, no exceptions. What's new is that the lot will also open to the public at an affordable paid rate, turning space that used to sit empty most of the week into something that benefits the wider neighborhood, while generating a bit of revenue that goes straight back into upkeep like snow removal and groundskeeping. As installation gets underway, you'll start seeing signage go up around the lot. That's just PMC getting to work, not a change in how you park.

Resurrection is gearing up to launch its fourth kindness campaign this fall, and this year’s theme, Love One Another, comes straight from Jesus’ command to his followers in John 13:34. There will be plenty of ways to live this out together and on your own once the campaign kicks off this fall, but you can start spreading the word now. Beginning Sunday, August 30, Love One Another t-shirts, yard signs, garden flags, and car decals will be available for purchase at all locations, so get yours early and help spread the message.

we're glad to welcome guest preacher Magrey deVega to Resurrection. Magrey is a pastor, author, and speaker known for his thoughtful and engaging approach to Scripture, leadership, and the life of the church. He serves as senior pastor of Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Tampa, Florida, and is the author of 13 books, including titles from Abingdon Press that help congregations engage Scripture with both depth and imagination. His writing and speaking often explore the intersection of biblical interpretation, spiritual formation, and the mission of the church in a changing world. A frequent speaker at conferences, clergy gatherings, and denominational events, Magrey brings a pastor's heart, a scholar's curiosity, and a storyteller's voice to his work.

We are currently seeking volunteer leaders to serve on key committees and elected positions: Finance, Trustees, Staff Parish Relations, Foundation, Nominations, and Lay Delegates to Annual Conference. join us in the Foundry at Resurrection Leawood for the Love One Another Hunger Symposium, part of Serve Saturday and the Love One Another campaign and community food drive. We’ll look at food insecurity in metro KC, our region, our nation, and around the world, and hear from a panel of guests from local, regional, and national organizations addressing hunger issues, updating us on trends and capturing the human dimension of hunger. We’ll recognize the good work being done and point toward a variety of ways to respond. The event also includes a ministry fair with exhibitors from organizations involved in hunger response.

We invite you to participate in our Community Food Drive, part of our Love One Another kindness campaign, from Sept. 27 to Oct. 14. We’re collecting “HEART-y” soups to help nourish our neighbors. To make an even greater impact, other faith communities are joining in independently, making this a community-wide effort. Grab a collection bag, use the attached list to fill it, and take a second bag to share with someone else.
